*Up and Coming*Hair Update + 1 Year Nappiversary!

I'll post my official natural hair update in details soon but my hair growth is coming along great! I was just thinking the other day that I wore my short hair cut for 9 years. Since going natural a year ago, I have been amazed at how versatile my hairstyles can be:). I did the "Big Chop" on September 10, 2008; the best decision I made for my hair. My hair is healthier, longer and as I said, versatile -- I love it!

I've been MIA. I know, I know...

So, where has kMiale been you ask? Life has been extra busy the past couple of months, but you know what? I will NOT complain! I was blessed with two jobs, I am preparing for graduate school, and coming up with ideas for a small business. So yep, I'm keeping at it!

I really missed blogging. I'll try to come back and update as often as possible but it's hard to find the time, yall.

Hair Update

It's growing! 8 months since Big Chop

Black Sitcoms and Melodramas

First it was Girlfriends -and many before that- and now The Game. The decision is set to be made tomorrow regarding the fate of the CW sitcom, The Game.

I LOVE this show! There's not too many shows that I tolerate to watch but show tackles love, money, family and surviving relationships in the "industry."

With only 3 seasons, how is this show facing cancellation? This is very disappointing. What's even more disappointing is that this seems to be the trend for Black television shows.

I recently became interested in the new HBO Series "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" and I must admit that I am impressed.

I'm Back!

It's been a while since my last blogpost! I need to get back on this. With a full-time job plus freelancing, it's hard to keep up but I'm back ;)
Since my last post, which was Nov. 4, 2008 (whoops...) I've turned 24, started freelancing in addition to working full-time, and I am now applying to graduate school (yay!!!).

My natural hair growth is coming along quite nicely and my next goal is weight loss.

I vow to never neglect my blog again! Let's go!

A Historic Election in the United States of America

Today, I am (we are) experiencing history in the making. The United States is possibly moments away from electing the first African American President of the United States of America. Wow. I can't put into words what this moment in time means for a lot of voters, American citizens.

I can imagine the feeling our elders feel. That we as a nation have reached a point in accepting and acknowledging an African American as a viable candidate for President. This step in American history speaks volumes. Let's see how the projections and election results unfold.
